Sandra Oxtoby

Sandra Oxtoby is a Certified EC English Competition Coach based out of Carousel Stables with a Bachelor of Kinesiology (major in Sports Psychology) from the University of Calgary.

Sandra Oxtoby was born with dressage in her blood,  daughter of Patricia Oxtoby one of the influential founders of dressage in Alberta. Growing up at Bearspaw Equestrian Centre in NW Calgary, Sandra was exposed to dressage everyday.  Patricia wanted Sandra to have a broader range of disciplines however, and up until the age of fifteen Sandra trained and competed heavily in western disciplines such as reining, barrel racing and natural horsemanship.   However at the age of fifteen, Sandra choose to dedicate her training and time to the beauty of dressage.  Over the years, she rode through FEI Juniors, FEI Young riders, and now is currently competing at the FEI Prix St. George and FEI Intermediare 1 Levels with many championships to her name.  As well as having experience starting, training and showing younger horses.  On a daily basis, she is under the watchful eye of her two mentors, Crystal and Janet.  Along with participating in Albrecht Heidemann, Ger Geertsen and Peter Campbell clinics.  She groomed for Crystal on her silver medal journey to the 2011 Pan American Games, and is currently finishing her Masters of Science in Physiotherapy at the University of Alberta.  Her current mount Zedor will declare for the 2015 Pan American games for the small tour.  Sales, clinics, lessons and training are available both in Edmonton and Calgary.  She can be contacted at 403 969 8292 or s.oxtoby@hotmail.com for further information.
