Judge: Janet Adams -NCCP Level 2 English Coach

April 27th, 2014

Everyone should participate!
This will run like a real show!
Tests offered: Walk/Trot, Training-GP, Western Dressage Tests
$55.00/test

This is a great excuse to dig out your show gear, memorize your tests, practice braiding, clip your horse and get feedback before the show season gets under way with the first Gold Show May 9-11th

This is also a great way for riders who don’t plan on showing to get the experience of riding a test and working towards a goal with your horse.  It is not competitive – scores will not be posted.

Please send your requested test, questions or if you are able to volunteer to Sandra – s.oxtoby@hotmail.com, 403 969 8292.

INFORMATION

Requirement:  Minimum 6 participants.

Cost:  $55.00+GST on your bill at the end of April and will count as one of your lessons for the month.  You are allowed to ride a maximum of two tests.

Deadline:   April 19th.

Warm up:  Will be in the outside arena (average temperature is +13 degrees).

Ride Times: Will be posted 1 week before on April 20th.  If you are late for your time – you miss it!  We have to treat it like a real show.

Dress Code: Show clothes are not required, but recommended to ensure you have everything and it is working well.  Other clothes include clean breeches and a tight jacket/vest.   For western classes, clean jeans and long sleeve shirt.  Neutral colours are best (white, black, brown, beige).

Tack/Horse: Attempts at checking tack will occur.  This includes measuring whips, inspecting horse, looking at equipment, bits, etc.

Reader: You are allowed a reader (but Crystal wont be happy about it!).

Scribes: We will need a volunteer or two to help Janet with writing during the tests as well as calculating scores (this will only be a 2 hour commitment max).  So if you aren’t riding, this can be a great learning experience!

Scores: Will be calculated as soon as possible (dependent on volunteers) – and will be provided to rider.  Scores will not be posted, as the emphasis is on written feedback from Janet.

Viewing: If you would like to watch, please only enter the arena between tests, not during.

Judge Interaction: Minimal conversations with the judge is required to keep everyone on time. Janet will call out if you are off course, and then please continue, as you would in a real show setting.  We are allotting each person approximately 10 minute slots.

Coffee/Donuts will be provided – please feel free to bring any snacks for the coffee room!
